Father Rejoices after successful “Gender Transition” of his son

gender transition

This is the 21st century and people are smart enough to know what is right and wrong. And we also have the option to fight for our rights if it seems unjust.

Unlike in the past centuries, women have a stronger and more powerful role to play in society. The world doesn’t just revolve around men anymore.

As of 2019, there are 112 genders that people around the world identifies. So, it’s safe to say we’ve come a REALLY long way when it comes to our sexuality.

However, that doesn’t make the world safe for a person that doesn’t identify as a male or a female.

But I have a question related to this, when do you really know that you’re not who the world sees you?

When do you figure out yourself that you’re actually a girl trapped inside a boy’s body or vice versa?

Not everyone is Shiloh Jolie-Pitt who figured out she doesn’t want to dress up like a girl anymore. So, she started wearing boy’s clothes and is probably a boy now.

Gender transition is a really hard thing to go for. It is highly liberating once you know who you really are and decide you don’t belong to the body you naturally have.

And I have to admit, it is necessary to liberate yourself no matter what the society thinks and talks about.

But changing the gender of your 4-year-old son who doesn’t even know how to properly pronounce alphabets is probably absurd.

Yet, this is exactly what a man from the United States did to his 4-year-old son, who now identifies as a girl.

Mike Ginicola shares the news of his 4-year-old son’s “gender transition”.

Mike Ginicola took to Twitter to share the news of the gender transition of his 4-year-old son Waylon, who is now officially Willow.

He wrote “It’s official, we have a 4-year-old daughter! Waylon is now Willow. Took A Lot of paperwork to make the gender transition.”

He was ecstatic to share the birth certificate of his 4-year-old child who is now a girl to his followers.

However, that didn’t go as well as Ginicola had planned. It took no time for a lot of people to call him out for his actions.

And some users even went ahead and called it child abuse.

The argument most people made for the gender transition of the 4-year-old-boy was that he wasn’t very much fond of his toys stereotypically made for boys.

And the father changed his son’s gender because he’d rather play with Barbies and wear dresses than be “trapped” inside the wrong body.

The comments were too harsh for Mike to process, so he locked his Twitter Account.

However, he didn’t just receive hate for making such a move. There were people who supported his decision and praised him for it.

They thought “Willow” was lucky enough to have a parent like Mike who’d support and accept their child for whoever they are.

What is wrong with the whole story?

Honestly, I’m in no position to judge someone for their actions. Everyone has the rights to be who they are and do things they want to do, except illegal things.

But changing their gender and sexuality isn’t an illegal thing anymore, at least in western society.

But whatever Mike Ginicola did wasn’t just, neither to his 4-year-old son who is now his daughter nor to the LGBTQ+ community. And here’s why.

For starters, he (she) is just 4 years old, almost a toddler. That clearly means that the child’s brain isn’t fully developed. Not at least to know whether he’s into girls or boys.

And trying to tell a boy that he is actually a girl does nothing but confuses him for the rest of his life.

A person’s body is solely his and it’s up to him to decide whether or not he wants to be a man or a woman.

So, for a father assuming that his child doesn’t like to play with toys made for boys’ means he wants to be a girl is absurd.

He might be your child but you have no rights to decide whether or not he is a boy or a girl. You’re not empowering your child to be free; you’re forcing them to be what you want them to be.

The parents that support and accept their children after coming out as gay, lesbian or anything else are definitely praiseworthy. But forcing a child to become something they’re not is nothing but child abuse.

You’re just being the same parents that don’t want to acknowledge the fact that their child is LGBTQ. You’re being heterophobic.

The Consequences.

Ginicola’s decision might not affect his child now, but as he grows up there is a high chance he might get gender dysphoria.

Waylon, who is officially Willow now, might have confusion about her identity for the rest of her life because the reports say she is a girl but it doesn’t feel that way.

It would’ve been better for him to let his son grow up; figure things out for himself and then decide on his sexuality.

And as a father, Mike should have made it clear to him from the very beginning that he is okay with whatever he chooses to be.

I understand that its parent’s duty to make choices for their kids until they can do it for themselves. But sexuality isn’t something a parent decides. It is natural and only you have the rights to be whoever you want.
